"Left and Right Brain Theory": What I understand about it?

The last day's discussion in English116 was indeed impressive, compressive and hilarious. The discussant had done their part of sharing comprehensible inputs on us. What had caught most of our attention and interest was the topic, "Left and Right brain theory". As I said, the discussion had been exciting and revealing. Everyone was eager to know which side they belong.
When I was in elementary and high school, I encountered tests which will determine if where on the two groups do I belong. Actually, I surpassed three different types of tests and the results all stated that I am neutral. This means that I used both sides of the brain most of the time. That time I can't really prove to myself that it was true.
This theory of the structure and functions of the mind suggests that the two different sides of the brain control two different “modes” of thinking. It also suggests that each of us prefers one mode over the other. The left hemisphere of the brain is responsible for logic. The left hemisphere also contains the language center, interprets patterns and is detail-oriented.The left hemisphere of the brain is responsible for logic. The left hemisphere also contains the language center, interprets patterns and is detail-oriented.The left hemisphere of the brain is responsible for logic. The left hemisphere also contains the language center, interprets patterns and is detail-oriented.The right hemisphere of the brain is responsible for emotions. The right hemisphere is spatially oriented and searches for meaning. It is also is the center controlling music, art and kinesthetic abilities.Based on the informations I had learned during the discussion and on the experiences I have, I can say that it was really both sides.

left and right brain theory

Left and Right Brain theory: A reflection
Left and Right Brain is indispensible with each, they have a distinct role to play. We use right brain to make us more creative, daydream and everything that makes us enjoy and happy but there’s an always a limitation in every happiness and that’s the role of the left brain. Left brain dictates what should be the right thing to do and dictates the things accepted by the society. How I wished that I would always used my right brain. When Ma’am Judith asked me, what brain I used to, I said right brain .Because I consider myself as a music lover, I loves to play musical instrument and that the things that make me feel bliss and I almost forget my problem. It always becomes my outlet every time I’m sad and alone.
For the past few days I had struggled in which I’m going to use, is it my right brain or my left brain. Dwight said that I need to use my brain in my decision because he does not want me to see me to commit mistakes and get hurt in the end. But my heart dictates me that I’m going to use it. It’s alright that I have committed mistakes and learned from it and bears the pain. And according to Ma’am, Judith,” no gain, no pain and no pain, no gain”. I already accepted that in every decision there’s always a consequences. What really matters it’s my own decision. And according to Ptr. Jim there’s no harm in loving as long you know your limitation .Actually, it’s a serious problem between us, I am a Trinitarian while he is a Oneness. We are also conflict in terms of salvation we believed in salvation by grace while them believes in salvation by works. How we would to reconcile in this complicated issue? .But then, I already made my decision, to continue to love him despite of all odds and differences. I know that in the right time God will be the one to make impossible things be possible.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

One of my classmates gave it to me during the time of my sentiments. I can't hardly believe that she was the one who made me smile that moment. She was right we should be never even the world is already against us.For the past few weeks I had totally struggled from nightmare of my past experience.I tried to hide everything by giving my smile to them. It's already been 12 years had passed after that traumatic I had experienced .I tried to move on but I can't. He still visits me in the middle of night I can't do anything with it but to cry to God. My life is a dramatic one. It's my first time to reveal this... I am just one of those millions of children who had bad experienced in their childhood. It's a good thing that they would able to share it and have the experienced the justice. But me...I just kept it and became slave of my past.I don't have the courage to voiced it out...I am weak. However in my weakness God gave me the strength to continue His gift...my Life.I know that God has a precious plan for me.

GET CLOSE WITH FEW POLITICIANS

It was once in a blue moon to have given the chance to meet our President of the Phils. and an additional bonus with Mr. Arthur Yap, Cong. Dato Arroyo, Cong. Louie Villafuerte and Gov. LRay. It seemed that I was a child again. Trying to get in with crowded people just to see them in the closer view to shake their hands, to have a pose with them, to catch their attention and to get a smile from them. ..and these were possible last March 24, 2010 at LRV Atrium. I still remember then when my mother and I saw well-known politicians like Mr. Rodolfo Biazon and James Jacob. I kept away my hold to my mother just to get closer with them and to see them. It was nice in the feelings that even somehow I met few people who are national figures and leaders in the country.

My Ideal Teacher

Everybody can be a teacher but an ideal teacher is one in a million. Just like the footprints in the sand that only an ideal teacher would leave a print in every heart of the students .An ordinary teacher teaches only in class but an ideal teacher teaches for a lifetime.

My ideal teacher is a facilitator of learning, a book that overflows the knowledge and wisdom. A star that guides and lightens our darkest path, parents who showed their finite care and steadfast love. A friend that we could lean on in times of our sadness. And they are the people with wholeheartedly commitment treating his/her profession as a vocation. In spite of all this qualities they possessed, they were still like a bamboo that bowed down when the wind blow comes and they were always put their feet on the ground.

My ideal teacher is a facilitator of learning, he /she organizes our thoughts, guides us in our every endeavor and gives us the pearl of knowledge. He/she did not dictate what we are going to do but instead like a shadow that never leaves us. Through this we are able to depends on ourselves and learn from our own in every mistakes that paves the way for our improvement and lives us in wisdom. They also motivate and encourage in times of our failure and make us overcome and continue.

My ideal teacher is just like a book, a bank of knowledge and wisdom wherein what they have learned was being shared to us wholeheartedly. They possessed excellency, competency, and proficiency .The teacher also knows the needs of his students. And they would able to suffice what we all need. But still they have the compassion for their students wherein they put themselves in our shoes.

My ideal teacher is like a lamp who guides our every step and able to lighten our way. They are the one who molds us making us to become good and productive individual that we are not be at lost.
My ideal teacher acts as a friend. When we in great distress he/she the one who gives us the courage and strength on our weakest moment. They are willing to listens and gives us advises the best thing that we must do. They are also the person we could trust, share our inner thoughts and laughs with us. They know how to mingle with us.

My ideal teacher is like our dearest parents who shares undying love and care to us. They treat us not just his/her students but as their son and daughter. They always think for our own good and provide our needs. Always there to supports and never leave our side.
Having an ideal teacher is hard to find it’s just like counting the sand on the seashore. So we are blessed to have found one.

My first demo –teaching

It was February 12, Friday when I had my demo-teaching in the second year section A of Laboratory High school. It was a nice experience and one of my unforgettable experiences as a student. At first I was very nervous and really don’t know what to do to overcame this, But when it was started with a prayer by Juvelyn it gives me courage to continue, and what I did I just give my warm smile to them. And it everything had followed .Especially when I gave them an activity and they starts laughing it really inspired me and seeing all those smiles. In this activity they were so excited to see what’s really inside the box and after knowing that it was just a mirror they were just laughing. But when I was in the middle of my discussion I suddenly experience an stomachaches. I thought that I wouldn’t finish my demo, but when they started to participates in my discussion. just ignored my stomachache and just continued, and it had just gone when I already started giving my evaluation wherein they were ask to close their eyes while listening to music and they were imagining
During heir childhood memories, until they already grown-up and what they want to be in the future. Some of the students were already crying and when I asked them to write it in a sentence on what they have imagined .I was then happy reading it not just in a sentence form but in a paragraph and I fell blessed reading their reflections that they were so open to share it. I felt overwhelmed with all those things that I had experience with them especially when they calling me Maam. Not just in the classroom but every time we’ve met each other.
That’s maybe what Maam Salamat told us and now I’ve know.

LET'S PERFORM!!!

It was an enjoyable day for me when the CPAG performed at Villa Caceres Hotel and at CWC last February 18, 2010. The ocassion was for all veterinarians in the entire Philippines.

In the morning, the CPAG did the Doxology and Lupang Hinirang which I was part of it. It was more exciting when we performed at CWC that very night. We did the cultural concert by showing different kinds of dances and by singing Bicol songs and our finale was singing of Kahit Lalala Ay Pwede na by APO Hiking SOciety which were participated by all performers. We were all given praises and applauses for that peformances. We went home at 11 pm after we had our dinner at Biggs Naga.

VALENTINE'S TREAT

I am so blessed that I was part of Bicol National Association of America (BNAA)as one of their scholars here in Bicol.

Last February 14, 2010, exactly the day of love, we had our acquaintance valentine's treat party of all the scholars here in Bicol. Together with the respective coordinators from different schools and the most importantly, I've seen our sponsors/benefactors who initiated this kind of program/scholatrship.

I was very glad that time because this was the first time that I saw my co-scholars since that I am not an "original" scholar of it. Mariflor and I were the ones who replaced the position of Rey Joy Cruz that is why I was so lucky that God gave me this opportunity.

That time when we were asked to introduce ourselves, I felt so nervous so I forgot to say thank you to them. Now, I would like to say thank you for the BNAA that there has still scholarship that really helps those poor and deserving families/students. They are my inspiration to move forward and to reach my dreams in life. I remembered when one of the sponsors talked to us and said, "Don't say sorry if you are poor; say sorry if you can't get out of it."

I am proud to be a scholar of BNAA!
